2026 Skoda Enyaq review

Skoda’s flagship electric SUV, barely a year on Australian roads, is already getting a refresh. The Czech automaker isn’t wasting any time, injecting new life into its mid-size EV contender.

Forget waiting an eternity! The revamped Skoda Enyaq isfinallyhitting Australian shores, arriving with a briskness that’s practically unheard of within the Volkswagen Group. This isn’t the usual glacial rollout – the new Enyaq is landing down under remarkably close to its European premiere, leaving the previous model’s agonizing wait time in the dust.

The Skoda Enyaq made its grand debut in late 2020, electrifying Europe in 2021 with a trio of powertrain options – the 50, 60, and 80 – all wrapped in a versatile SUV package. Fast forward to 2024, and the Enyaq lineup expands, introducing a sleek Coupe variant alongside the more powerful 85 powertrain. This dynamic duo marks Skoda’s first foray into the Australian electric vehicle market.

The Enyaq’s sales figures since launch? Let’s just say they haven’t exactly set the electric car world on fire. While managing to hold its own against other Skoda models, the Enyaq exists in a shadow compared to the competition. With a mere 149 units finding homes so far in 2025, it’s trailing far behind segment heavyweights like the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6. Even the Toyota bZ4X and Mercedes-Benz EQB, cars facing their own challenges, are leaving the Enyaq in the dust with 596 and 561 sales respectively.

Skoda aims to electrify the SUV market again, and this time, it’s not just lip service. A cascade of updates, spearheaded by a tempting new price point, could finally make their electric SUV the one to watch.

The 85 powertrain, fueled by an 82kWh battery, returns – now cloaked in an all-new SUV silhouette, marking its Australian debut in this bold body style.

The game changes now: A 63kWh battery pack lops the entry price of the popular EV below $55,000 drive-away! Expect the same generous features list. Eager drivers, patience is key – this value-packed version arrives no sooner than November.

Will a facelift breathe new life into the Enyaq’s story? Skoda beckoned us to New South Wales’ sundrenched Hunter Valley for a sneak peek. There, amidst the vineyards, we tamed the <strong > 2026 Skoda Enyaq 85 Sportline</strong> , experiencing its refreshed spirit in both its SUV and Coupe forms.

Are these updates just what the doctor ordered for this big Czech-built EV?

How much does the Skoda Enyaq cost?

Skoda’s Enyaq iV range just got a whole lot more tempting. Picture this: the sleek Enyaq SUV 85 Sportline, yours for a drive-away price of $63,990. Prefer a sportier silhouette? The Coupe 85 Sportline turns heads at $68,990 drive-away. But wait, there’s more! Entry into the electric revolution is surprisingly accessible with the Enyaq 60 Select, rolling onto your driveway for just $54,990. Skoda makes electric dreams a reality, without breaking the bank.

| Model | Price before on-road costs | Drive-away pricing | | — | — | — | | 2026 Skoda Enyaq SUV 60 Select | $50,990 | $54,990 | |2026 Skoda Enyaq SUV 85 Sportline|$59,990|$63,990| |2026 Skoda Enyaq Coupe 85 Sportline|$65,990|$68,990|

The refreshed Enyaq range arrives, but only the Coupe Sportline survives the cull and gets a price slash! Shedding its pre-update price tag, this sleek stunner now starts well below its previous $69,990 (plus on-roads).

The BYD Sealion 7 leaps into the electric SUV arena with a price tag starting at $54,990, climbing to $63,990 for the premium variant (before you add the on-road extras). But how does it stack up against the competition? The Tesla Model Y RWD, a benchmark in the EV world, asks for $58,900 before you hit the road. And for those seeking extended range, the Kia EV6 Long Range commands a steeper $72,590 before on-road costs, setting the stage for a compelling comparison.

Additionally, the Toyota bZ4X starts at $66,000 before on-roads, and the Subaru Solterra starts at $69,990 before on-roads.

What is the Skoda Enyaq like on the inside?

Virtually unchanged from before, but noticeably different from other new Skodas while retaining an upmarket quality.

The pre-2024 Enyaq might miss Skoda’s dazzling Smart Dials, but its interior still punches above its weight. Think sophisticated minimalism, a world away from the Tesla Model Y’s stark, almost monastic cabin.

The centerpiece remains its stunning 13-inch infotainment display: a vibrant portal responding to your every touch with lightning speed. Forget fumbling through menus; intuitive, always-on panels ensure effortless navigation, even when wirelessly streaming your favorite playlists via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Imagine the screen sliced into two command centers. Up top: your driving domain. Here, banish those overzealous safety nannies with a tap – silencing the beeps and buzzers that dare to question your driving prowess.

Down below, find app shortcuts – your express lane to essential features like navigation and seamless smartphone mirroring. The best part? It’s your control panel. Personalize it, swap out shortcuts, and tailor it to your daily digital driving needs.

The climate controls, stubbornly relegated to the touchscreen’s bottom ribbon, are an ever-present digital demand. It’s a design choice we’re not entirely sold on, especially within the Enyaq. The sole physical button acts as a mere gateway, summoning the full climate menu rather than offering immediate, tactile adjustments.

Forget flimsy plastic. This device boasts a bank of seven hotkeys, each a miniature fortress of durable black plastic. Piano black fanatics, beware: minimalism reigns supreme here.

Forget button overload. You’ll spot a few controls below the infotainment screen and on the steering wheel, but that’s it. The wheel’s buttons, thankfully rendered in understated plastic or brushed silver, prioritize function over flash. Their limited number might demand a brief learning curve, but the uncluttered design is a welcome change.

Buried within the dash, a diminutive 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster presents a navigational puzzle. Wrangling its limited menus trip data, turn-by-turn directions, and the like requires mastering a cryptic set of buttons clinging to the steering wheel’s left flank. Prepare for a learning curve.

The steering wheel, still a masterpiece of sporty design, feels exceptional with its perforated leather grip. Gone is the winged arrow; in its place, the Skoda wordmark graces the center pad, a subtle but sophisticated touch that elevates the wheel’s premium feel.

Slip inside the Enyaq, and you’re immediately enveloped in a sanctuary of quality. Skoda has orchestrated a symphony of textures and tones, where every surface feels considered. But the real stars of the show are the sports seats – a decadent blend of supple leather and tactile suede that transform every journey into a first-class experience. Prepare to be spoiled.

Previously locked behind the optional Ultimate Pack, power-adjustable front seats now come standard in the 85 Sportline, a welcome upgrade. The Ultimate Pack still exists, but at a steep $6,000, it’s exclusively for the SUV model, lavishing it with techy treats like an augmented-reality head-up display and a concert-hall-worthy 12-speaker Canton sound system.

Beyond the essentials, the cabin’s front reveals thoughtful touches: a pair of cupholders, a center console deep enough for road trip snacks beneath a cushioned armrest, twin USB-C ports ready to power your devices, and a wireless charging pad for effortless phone replenishment. Nice extras? Absolutely. Essential to a comfortable journey? You decide.

Forget choosing between SUV and Coupe for rear passenger comfort in the Enyaq. Surprisingly, headroom remains generous in both, easily accommodating adults. Even more surprising? The Coupe somehow sneaks in a hair more headroom than the SUV. Second-row squabbles? Unlikely.

Sink into the surprisingly plush rear bench, where sculpted contours offer unexpected comfort. Skoda’s clever touches abound, but one comes at a cost: where a driveline tunnel might normally intrude, a handy storage tray now resides, liberating space for outboard passengers while unfortunately sacrificing legroom for anyone relegated to the middle seat.

The center console? Still a champ. Its compartmentalized design and extra cupholders are undeniably useful, but the best part? It pops right out when you need the space. Speaking of clever touches, check out the multi-tiered map pockets on the front seatbacks – a cartographer’s dream! Manual rear window sunshades offer a touch of first-class privacy, and then there’s the pièce de résistance: Skoda’s signature umbrella, nestled discreetly in the driver’s door, ready for any sudden downpour.

Backseat passengers are treated to a comfortable ride with dual rear-facing air vents and convenient USB-C ports. And for those chilly days, the outboard seats offer a touch of warmth, available in both the sedan and hatchback models.

Enyaq Coupe

Enyaq Coupe

The Enyaq Coupe holds steady with a generous 570-litre boot, while the standard SUV gains a modest 15-litre boost with the rear seats up. Think of it as choosing between sleek and spacious: floor space remains largely consistent, but the SUV offers a touch more headroom for taller cargo.

Beyond the convenience of a powered tailgate, the Enyaq is a masterclass in clever storage. Stash charging cables and everyday essentials in numerous thoughtfully placed nooks throughout the cabin. Skoda even anticipates the untidiness of cables with a bespoke carry bag, ensuring a clutter-free and composed ride.

Beneath the seemingly seamless floor lies a hidden world – a cleverly compartmentalized tray ready to swallow up stray clutter, all while preserving the pristine, flat surface above.

If you’re a Skoda devotee, sliding into the driver’s seat will feel instantly like coming home. The layout and feel are pure Skoda. One minor snag though: ditching the spare wheel means relying on the provided tire repair kit – a trade-off for extra boot space perhaps?

What’s under the bonnet?

The Enyaq serves up its electric thrills in two distinct flavors, each defined by battery capacity and power. Regardless of your choice, all that electrifying energy is channeled exclusively to the rear wheels, promising a classic, engaging driving experience.

Enyaq SUV 85 Sportline

Enyaq SUV 85 Sportline

| Specifications | Enyaq 60 | Enyaq 85 | | — | — | — | |Drivetrain| Single-motor electric | Single-motor electric | |Battery| 63kWh (59kWh usable) li-ion | 82kWh (77kWh usable) li-ion | |Peak power| 150kW | 210kW | |Peak torque| 310Nm | 545Nm | |Drive type| Rear-wheel drive | Rear-wheel drive | |Tare mass| – | 2230-2200kg (SUV- Coupe) | |0-100km/h (claimed)| 8.1s | 6.7s | |Energy consumption (claimed)| – | 15.9-15.5kWh/100km (SUV-Coupe) | |Claimed range (WLTP)| 410km | 547km-561km (SUV-Coupe) | |Max AC charge rate| 11kW | 11kW | |Max DC charge rate| 165kW | 135kW |

The Škoda 85 just got a bit more battery-friendly, but it comes at a (slight) cost. That blistering 175kW max charging speed? Dialed back to 135kW. Think of it as trading a quick sprint for a marathon pace. Skoda claims this slower, steadier charging keeps the battery cooler, allowing it to maintain peak speeds for a longer duration and ultimately extending its lifespan.

Here is a sharper take on the Enyaq’s charging times: The Enyaq 85 hustles from 10 to 80 percent charge in just 28 minutes a respectable pace that keeps it neck-and-neck with Tesla’s Model Y RWD. However, the Kia EV6 still reigns supreme, blitzing to the same level in a mere 18 minutes. Surprisingly, the Enyaq 60 packs a charging punch, gulping down electrons at 165kW to achieve a 10-80 percent charge in a zippy 24 minutes.

Our time behind the wheel of each vehicle was fleeting, preventing a definitive energy consumption test. However, one SUV caught our eye, hinting at a thirst of approximately 22kWh per 100 kilometers.

The Coupe doesn’t just turn heads; it slices through the air. Re-sculpted lines have honed its aerodynamic prowess, resulting in a drag coefficient that’s lower than ever. This means less resistance, more efficiency, and a smoother journey, mile after thrilling mile.

This contributes to a reduction in energy consumption, with its new claim of 15.5kWh/100km down from 15.9kWh/100km previously.

The Enyaq’s frunk? Vanished. Pop the hood and instead of the storage space rivals boast, you’re greeted by… well, imagine an AI’s fever dream of what an engineusedto be. A curious, almost sculptural void resides where practicality could have thrived.

How does the Skoda Enyaq drive?

The Skoda Enyaq launch wasn’t just a drive; it was a baptism by fire. Hunter Valley’s "roads" – if you could call them that – were more akin to a lunar landscape. But this brutal testing ground inadvertently showcased the Enyaq’s surprisingly plush ride, proving its mettle where asphalt surrendered.

This is a story of Jekyll and Hyde, automotive style, hinging entirely on the suspension you choose. We wrestled with the Sportline, the sharper sibling, leaving us to wonder: Does this manicured experience translate down the line to the more comfort-oriented Select?

The SUV 85 Sportline’s "standard" suspension proved a bone-jarring experience on Australian roads. The jarring ride induced an honestly shocking level of head-shake, an issue exacerbated by the Enyaq’s considerable weight.

After his stint behind the wheel of the Elroq, my colleague Josh Nevett echoed similar grievances, unsurprising considering the vehicles’ shared DNA. Forget gliding – on anything but pristine asphalt, the ride becomes a jarring affair. This SUV’s stiff suspension betrays its European road-hugging aspirations, prioritizing a sporty feel at the expense of passenger comfort. It’s a bumpy reminder that not all roads are created equal.

It’s a bit like James May lamenting the Nürburgring’s corrupting influence on car development, though I highly doubt Skoda envisioned the Enyaq setting any lap records.

Forget everything you thought you knew about the Enyaq. Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) transforms the ride. The difference? Stark. Experience two Enyaqs back-to-back, and you’ll understand. It’s the velvet-smooth secret weapon standard in the Coupe, and a must-have $5000 upgrade for the SUV that unlocks its hidden potential.

Gone are the days of teeth-rattling collisions. Now, bumps are devoured with a newfound composure. The ride still possesses a tautness that connects you to the road, but there’s now an unmistakable air of refinement, a deliberate precision that elevates the entire experience.

Previously, we lauded DCC’s performance in VW Group vehicles like the Tiguan and Superb. The Enyaq mirrors this success, offering a spectrum of damper settings. Dive from a cloud-like, comfortable ride to a surprisingly sporty edge. Even at its firmest, DCC still outshines the standard suspension for overall composure.

The unexpected perk? An electric SUV with a surprising aptitude for carving corners. It attacks bends with an eagerness that belies its size, body roll kept firmly in check. Hugging, sculpted seats and a steering system with laser-like precision complete the athletic experience.

The Enyaq? It’s not just big; itfeelscolossal. Forget that shrinking-violet sensation some SUVs offer once you’re rolling. This one dominates the road, an undeniable presence. You sense every inch of its footprint, amplified perhaps by the expansive, airy cabin.

The hefty 2.2-tonne curb weight and static suspension conspire to create a sensation of unwieldiness. Thankfully, the optional DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) is a revelation. It corrals the car’s mass, injecting a newfound sense of composure and sophistication into the ride.

Beneath the Enyaq’s composed exterior lurks a playful spirit. Unleash the 85 Sportline, and its 500Nm+ of torque transforms into a surge of pure electric fun, painting black lines with surprising ease thanks to its rear-wheel-drive setup.

Stomp on the gas mid-corner, and the rear tires erupt in a glorious, smoky protest, the tail wiggling with playful abandon. It’s a controlled rebellion, not a chaotic spin, demanding a deliberate prod to unleash the hooligan within. Fear not, for the traction control acts as a vigilant guardian, ready to step in before things get too sideways.

The Enyaq delivers that signature EV thrust we’ve come to expect. From a dead stop, it’s a genuine shot to the senses. Need a burst of power while already cruising? No problem. And with adjustable drive modes, you can fine-tune the throttle response to match your mood, from serene eco-cruising to exhilarating sprints.

Harnessing energy has never been so intuitive. Paddle shifters put regenerative braking at your fingertips, letting you dial in the perfect deceleration. Skoda cleverly blends regen and traditional braking into the pedal feel, though sadly, the execution needs a little finesse.

Tap the brake pedal, and for a fleeting moment, you’re a guardian of energy, gently coaxing momentum back into the battery. But this isn’t your grandpa’s braking system. Don’t expect that familiar, reassuring bite right away. Instead, prepare for a longer journey – a deeper press – before the traditional brakes finally awaken and bring you to a halt.

"The steering wheel, alas, feels like wrestling a damp sponge – numb, lifeless, and a constant drain on driving confidence. And unlike the readily available DCC upgrade, there’s no easy fix, leaving this oddly characterless helm as the single blemish on an otherwise impressive Enyaq canvas."

Road noise? Let’s just say the SUV 85 Sportline sings abiton the tarmac. Thankfully, those standard 20-inch wheels offer a more muted performance than the teeth-rattling 21s. The Coupe, however, throws caution to the wind with standard 21-inchers. A bold choice, but hey, what did you expect from a flagship with a sporty soul?

Safety wasn’t an afterthought; it’s a fortress. The adaptive cruise control and travel assist performed with poise, a vigilant co-pilot smoothly navigating traffic and maintaining a confident lane position.

The lane-keep assist system mostly behaves, though it throws a tiny tantrum if you stray too close to the painted lines on backroads. It’s like a gentle nudge from a cautious co-driver – present enough to be felt, especially when navigating curves, but never intrusive enough to grab the wheel.

The Enyaq, in any form, delivers a remarkably refined driving experience, especially when equipped with DCC – it’s the key to unlocking its true potential.

How much does the Skoda Enyaq cost to run?

Forget mileage anxieties! The Skoda Enyaq comes standard with serious peace of mind: a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty covers the vehicle itself, while the battery – the heart of your Enyaq – is protected for eight years or 160,000 kilometres. Plus, with lengthy 24-month or 30,000-kilometre service intervals, whichever arrives first, you’ll spend more time on the road and less in the workshop.

| Servicing and Warranty | Skoda Enyaq | | — | — | |Vehicle warranty| 7 years, unlimited kilometres | |Battery warranty| 8 years, 160,000km | |Roadside assistance| 2 years (then service-dependent) | |Service intervals| 24 months or 30,000km | |Capped-price servicing| 8-year or 10-year service packs | |Average annual service cost| $206 (8-year), $195 (10-year) | |Total capped-price service cost| $1650 (8-year), $1950 (10-year) |

Skoda EV owners enjoy double the roadside love! Get two years of complimentary assistance, while petrol-powered Skodas get a solid year of coverage. But here’s the real kicker: stick to the Skoda service schedule at an authorized dealer, and your EV’s roadside guardian angel will stick around foranothertwo years! Petrolheads, don’t fret – you’ll still snag an extra year of worry-free driving.

childcareman.xyz’s Take on the Skoda Enyaq

The Skoda Enyaq gets a glow-up! With a sharper, more sophisticated design and a wider lineup of electric SUVs, Skoda’s latest offering puts emission-free driving within reach of even more wallets.

Forget the bells and whistles of the Ultimate Package. The real game-changer for Sportline Enyaq buyers? DCC. Seriously, it transforms the driving experience. Sure, youcouldskip the $5,000 upgrade, but without DCC, you’re only getting half the story. This isn’t just an optional extra; it’s the missing ingredient that elevates the Enyaq from "good" to genuinely brilliant.

The SUV variant injects a dose of practicality into the lineup, appealing to buyers who find the Coupe’s sleek lines a squeeze on their lifestyle. Range anxiety? Not really an issue here. It hangs tough with the competition, making the lower price tag feel like a genuine steal.

So, you’re at the crossroads. Do you unleash your inner speed demon with the Coupe 85 Sportline, dripping with standard luxury? Perhaps tame the terrain in a comfort-cruising SUV? Or play it cool, pocket the savings, and ride the Select? Tough call. Which adventure will you choose?

The Enyaq Select remains an enigma. Perhaps its ride smooths out the bumps, but it sheds features along the way. You’ll miss the progressive steering and adaptive dampers (DCC) – options that elevate the standard Enyaq from merely competent to genuinely enjoyable.

Choosing between the Enyaq and the Elroq boils down to a simple equation: space versus budget. They share DNA, similar features, and comparable performance, so neither is abadchoice. The real question is, how much Skoda do you need – and how much are you willing to pay for it?

Skoda’s Australian lineup boasts impressive features, but a few gremlins linger. The absence of connected services smarts, though Skoda Australia promises it’s on their radar. For now, wireless smartphone mirroring serves as a clever stand-in while they wrestle that particular beast into submission.

This may be a dealbreaker for some buyers, but Skoda’s case-by-case approach isn’t forcing it to fast-track any implementation.

For the Enyaq, the SUV 85 Sportline with the Ultimate Package is a must-have in our book. However, don’t sleep on the Select model – on paper, it screams smart buy and offers compelling value.
