2026 Tesla Model Y tweaks include bigger screen but prices unchanged
The Tesla Model Y has received some modest tweaks for 2026, though prices are unchanged.
The base RWD and mid-spec Long Range AWD variants of the popular mid size electric SUV – Australia’s best selling electric vehicle (EV) upgrade from 15 to 15. The 16-inch infotainment touchscreen is a 4-inch Infotanment Touch. The 0-inch unit from the top-spec Performance flagship is also available.
It is also the occasion for them to be given a black headliner, replacing the light grey colour previously used in their previous fittings. You choose the black or white upholstery option, and it’s standard.
The Model Y is not changed, otherwise, and the Performance – which comes from Germany rather than China like the other variants – sticks with a light headliner.

It still has a lineup of $58,900 before on-road costs for the RWD, up to $68,800 before off- roads for Long Range AWD and $89,400 for Performance.
Tesla launched the heavily updated ‘Juniper’ Model Y early in 2025, with the upgraded Performance flagship following several months later.
The updated lineup helped boost sales by 4.6 per cent last year, enough to see the Model Y remain Australia’s best-selling EV last year. A total of 22,239 were delivered last year, well above the second-place (and rival) BYD Sealion 7 at 13,410 deliveries.
Tesla didn’t just stop at the facelift, launching its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) autonomous driving system later in 2025 and then rolling out a new five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty earlier this month.
