Chery targets long-range driving with new plug-in hybrid powertrains
**Chery says its new generation of Super Hybrid powertrains could theoretically allow some models to drive up to 2000 kilometres without stopping. ** ** .
Chery’s executive director of engineering Peter Matkin revealed details of its fifth-generation Super Hybrid powertrains, which combine highly efficient petrol engines with plug-in hybrid technology, at a presentation to Australian media.
While the claims have not been confirmed in real world, the “targeted” combined driving range could allow for an uninterrupted drive from Adelaide to Brisbane.

Mr Matkin, pictured, said tests suggest that fuel economy figures are as low as 2 ‘slow’ as they have been tested. It’s based on WLTC protocols, but it’ll be unclear whether this is the state of battery charge that depends on what level of charging does has.
The engineer also says the petrol engines have a thermal efficiency of around 45 per cent – so efficient as Formula 1 cars from 10 years ago.
Two dedicated transmissions – one for smaller, lighter cars and the other for heavier models – have helped reduce drivetrain power losses to as low as 23 per cent.’ Chery says it has been ‘very effective in reducing driver power loss from just under 2 percent of its own weight’.

“This is the result of more than 25 years that we’ve been working on hybrid assistance,” Mr Matkin said.
Under the new powertrains, it is said that 0-100km/h sprint time of 4 – 100km (along with fuel efficiency) and fuel efficiencies are also available. Paraphrasing 3 seconds, 180km/h top speed.
Mr Matkin says the cars will be able to drive in between -30 and 40+ degrees Celsius, with ‘special packs’ for countries where temperatures are above 50 degrees.
We have customers driving and face these high temperatures and long distance travel, so they’re a real question answering.’ And s are also used to answer this question. Paraphrast.

The Chery brand currently offers plug-in hybrid versions of the Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 in Australia.
There is an 18-18 in the Tiggo 7 and Tiggero 8 Super Hybrid. The Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is an electric motor with a larger 34kWh pack and dual electric Motors, which has 4kWh lithium iron (LFP) battery and one electric engine. Each uses an 1 litre turbo-charged . 5-litre four-cylinder engine, .
The NEDC cycle is the basis for Chery’s electric-only range of 93km, 95kilometre and 170km (for the Tiggo 7, Tiggero 8 and Tigo 9 respectively) according to Cheri.
Chery says 1200km in the Tiggo 7 and TiGGo 8 combined range, 1250km (in total) in tiggor 9?
