Beyond the Bull: The design story behind the Lamborghini Temerario

At Sant’Agata Bolognese, design isn’t outsourced – it defines the place.

Over 20 years after Lamborghini launched Centro Stile as an in-house creative force, the brand is defining crossroads hybridisation throughout range, growing model family and new generation of super sports cars that must honour heritage while pushing into the future.

The plethora of engineering complexity that is playing an important role in the modern day’s car design, from safety to emission goals and never mind electrification or vehicle dynamics, it has been described as “an inherently hard brief”.

The Temerario embodies that philosophy – not by being louder, but by being sharper.

From the outset, Lamborghini was clear: the Revuelto and Temerario must coexist, not compete.

Light part of the aerodynamic architecture is lighting a portion of air that flows through sculpted openings towards the radiators, which channel air. A short-tail stance, which is dramatic and shows the mechanical drama between the tyres at the rear, has an Omega-like framing graphic with the hexagonal light signature.

The philosophy of the front and rear is that the lights are always part of aerodynamic concept. Mr Borkert said there’s always a bit of. motorcycle feeling in our cars, and that is what we do with the phrase “I think it’s very much like if I have ridden my bike.”

That’s not surprising, given the Lamborghini design boss likes his motorcycles, especially Ducati-branded bikes.

Sharp lines and tension are still used to define the surfacing of the Temerario; however, with a more human-like quality technical components wrapped in sculpted musculature rather than pure origami aggression – it is not necessarily an athletic component.

Mr Borkert recalls seeing the debut of the Lamborghini Gallardo more than two decades ago.

“The Gallardo fascinated me because of the clean shapes, the big shoulder, the puristic surfaces,” he said.

Then came the Lamborghini Huracán, adding sharper tension and more dramatic surfacing.

Temerario carries those ideas to the hybrid age pure Lamborghini shapes, but with a unique new design language.

This is the Alleggerita lightweight package, which has a large carbon fibre to reduce weight and increase performance, that sharpens that evolution further with that evolutionary offering.

The carbon-fibre wheels, revised aerodynamics, a more aggressive rear wing and an exposed carbon engine bonnet are among the . Customers can be able to say classy – or full-blooded track aggression from day one.

Personalisation remains central, with over 400 colours available and liveries offered from launch.

“When you drive the car, you feel integrated in. According to motorsports, the steering wheel is directly on the driving mode rotary selector (see “Driver Mode”). This allows for the swipe of content between screens – an option developed in house at Sant’Agata itself is available on digital displays that allow driver and passenger to be displayed online.

This version of Super Trofeo is a near-GT3 aggression for gentleman drivers worldwide. But synergy ensures Temerario’s design isn’t just expressive – it works under pressure.

But the Temerario is a bigger than ‘new entry in the range of s’. That means it signals Lamborghini’s hybrid design revolution without compromising the brand name of Lamborhinis.

Mr Borkert says the Revuelto carries the V12 torch – theatrical, monumental, flagship; and the smaller Temerario counters with agility, compact intensity and next-generation engagement.
