Deepal E07 recalled following stop-sale

Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd has issued a nationwide product safety recall for the 2025 Deepal E07 ‘Multitruck’ because it “may not” include a centre rear child seat anchor point.

Last week, Deepal Australia confirmed to childcareman.xyz it had “temporarily paused sales and deliveries of the MY25 E07 to complete required compliance work”.

Then earlier this week the company emailed existing owners of its large five-seat SUV – which can be transformed into something like a ute by sliding its rear glass roof forward and lowering the tailgate – confirming the issue relates to ADR 34/03 (Child Restraint Anchorages), which requires a top-tether anchorage point in each rear seating position fitted with a seatbelt.

The rear middle seating position may have not been fitted with a child restraint anchor point as required by Australian Design Rule (ADR) 34/03 – Child Restrainting Anchorages and Childrestrainted Anchor Fittings due to faulty manufacturing. This means that a baby or child car seat restraint cannot be safely installed, Deepal said in its recall notice.

If the baby/child seat was unsecurely placed on a child’s seat, it could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle drivers in case an accident or hard braking occurred. Paraphrast.
