Another Chinese brand wants you to go to the toilet in its cars
A network of relatively clean and accessible public toilets is also available across Australia, even in regional areas, with a system that has been developed to provide the country with an infrastructure known as “Australia’s most populous” (or more than any other nation).
But that’s not what is the case elsewhere in this world and Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand Seres has come up with a solution to help those who might be desperate.
As reported by Car News China, Seres has patented a toilet that lives under the passenger seat – with voice activation available for those who don’t want to get their hands dirty, per a Carscoops report.

In the patent illustration, “the toilet is mounted on a rail under the seat and provides an accessible passage for people not confident of getting to their destination.”
The deposits go into a removable tank that needs to be removed and emptied manually.
Besides the heating element, Seres has added to the tank – apparently in order to evaporate liquids and dry solids – and an exhaust fan to blow out unpleasant aroma of cabin air.

The toilet looks like a shower for those who prefer to squat, rather than sit down from the patent illustrations.
The toilet seems slightly more sophisticated than the solution of rival Rox Motors, which means its centre console double as a loo in an emergency.
As reported by childcareman.xyz in February 2026, the box can be used with a specific plastic bag with deodorising and absorbent gel.

It includes features and accessories designed for camping, including the tailgate kitchen, electricity outlets and an inflatable mattress – part of a series of features (including the centre console toilet) that are built up.
That’s what seems to be the outcome of an arms race between new car companies in China, each brand trying to provide the most features — large screens, seat massaging and on-board karaoke systems.
