In response to security concerns over the collection of data about their surroundings, Polish Armed Forces has banned cars manufactured in China from its military bases base base.
The Armed Forces has said in a statement that the decision was made to ban all made-in-China vehicles from entering “protected military facilities” after an analysis of risk on the ‘increasing integration of digital systems in vehicles and the potential for uncontrolled acquisition and use of data by these systems.
For the same reason, formally issued phones are not connected to the infotainment systems of cars produced in China (where they’re driving) or other.

The new restrictions apply to vehicles “equipped with integral or additional devices capable of recording position, image and sound” regardless of their origins – although China is the only country named in the announcement. Once these functions have been disabled, they will be allowed back into military facilities once these cars are re-opened.
The new rules do not apply to military vehicles, and also don’t apply during rescue operations, or when other government bodies are doing official work (such as inspections or providing services).
Despite the fact that vehicles from Chinese brands may be easily visible by security personnel, others might have been harder to find out (including the BMW iX3 and various Volvo models made in China).

In addition to requesting that Poland’s government create an official and security framework for “vehicles with advanced systems monitoring the condition of its vehicle and its surroundings” has also been asked by the military.
Security concerns have not been raised for the first time about technology that’s developed in China, with many countries deciding to ban Huawei and ZTE from providing equipment to telecommunications providers because of fears backdoors and snooping from Chinese government.
