Reality, however, delivered competence instead of charisma. The Elroq handled the curves with polite efficiency, never once hinting at the exhilarating rebellion I craved. Capable, yes. Thrilling? Sadly, no.

Despite its hefty 2.2-tonne frame, this SUV dances through tight corners with surprising agility. Grip is tenacious, body roll impressively contained, but don’t expect a thrill-a-minute ride. Ultimately, raw excitement likely won’t be a deciding factor for its target audience.
