Volvo Car Australia has issued another recall for its EX30 small electric SUV because its battery may pose a fire risk.
In January, Volvo recalled 2815 examples of the EX30, and warned owners to keep the battery charge level below 70 per cent.
It is now launching another national product safety recall, replacing the previous recall – for an estimated 3344 vehicles.

The cell modules in the high voltage battery may overheat at high charge levels due to a manufacturing problem,’ said . This could cause a vehicle fire,’ Volvo has again warned that if this happens.
The risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders (and/or damage to property) could be increased with a vehicle fire, .
“Until parts become available owners should keep the battery charge level below 70 per cent.”

But there is no cure, so if you own an affected car and it’s less than 70 per cent of charge, then you have to keep it under that.
If you press the vehicle symbol in the bottom bar of the touchscreen to set the target battery level at 70 per cent, you can then push Settings > Charging > Target batterylevel and pressing Settings>.
