2026 Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR revealed as even more hardcore hot hatch
The Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR has been shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon, with the special edition featuring several performance and visual upgrades.
The GR Yaris Morizo RR was developed from lessons learned from the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours race in Germany, according to Toyota, with an “exclusive suspension setting” designed for the hot hatch.
A special radiator grille and paint highlights have also been added to the Morizo RR, as well as a carbon-fibre rear wing designed for the Nürburgring event (Morizo R) with ‘carbon-Fibrit bonnet, body kit and many other exclusive additions such as an original Carbon- Fibrain grilling and colour highlights’.
In the 24-hour endurance race, Toyota chairman Akio Toyada (who is credited with developing a Morizo Mode button) and was known as ‘Morizo’ in his pseudonym ‘Magnolis’ role at the 24 hour endurance event which sets the front-to-rear torque output to 5050.

It has an eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, which Toyonda’san credits with allowing him to complete 15 laps of the 21-kilometre track.
The car’s electronic power steering system has also been modified.
Inside, the cabin has sueded with yellow stitching on a GR steering wheel, exclusive seats with white stitch and – Morizo mode on an online instrument cluster.
There are only 100 for Japan and another 100 to Europe, with each vehicle carrying a numbered plaque.
