LDV MIFA and MIFA 9 recalled
Ateco Automotive is recalling the petrol-powered LDV MIFA and electric LDV MIFA 9 people movers to address a problem with their steering.
The company says in its recall notice notice that the worm wheel within the Electronic Power Steering system (EPS) may have been too wet due to a manufacturing defect, it said.
“This may result in a sudden increased steering effort whilst driving.
“A sudden boost of steering power may increase the risk of an accident-causing serious injury or death to vehicle drivers and other road users.’ The spokesman said ‘The more we do, it is likely that someone in our car will be seriously injured/dead from any accident at some point on their own behalf. – ’.
