2026 Kia EV6 price and specs

The facelifted Kia EV6has finally arrived in Australia, two years after its reveal, bringing specification enhancements and very minor price rises.

EV6 is still available in the same four variants, but it has been released at $72,660 before on-road costs for the base Air and to 99,600 before off- road’s (for the flagship GT) – all versions are $70 more than their pre-update counterparts.

A new, more energy-rich 84kWh lithium-ion battery that replaces the old 77 is headlining the changes. A 4kWh unit, boosting claimed range from 528km to 582km in rear-wheel drive grades with 19-inch alloy wheels.

This is the battery that runs through the lineup, with all-wheel drive EV6s now rated at 522km or 450km (depending on the variant of this model). It can still be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes with a 350kW ultra-fast DC charger, Kia says.

Importantly, the updated EV6 GT now features much of the same equipment as its Hyundai Ioniq 5 N cousin, with both high-performance electric models sharing the same power outputs, simulated gear shifts, and synthesised engine sounds.

On the other hand, Korean brand claims that it has improved ride comfort by retuning the SUV’s shock absorbers while further noise-dearing has been applied around the rear electric motor to reduce noise.

The B-pillar is now thicker to increase body rigidity, and side airbags have been fitted to the second row.

But the EV6 is now better aligned with Kia’s newer models — featuring daytime running lights and angular headlights, as well as redesigned headlamps. Aside from the front bumper and grille treatment, there are two types of treatments for the Front bumper (one with a light bar) and Grilles one for GT-Line and GT; another for Air.

A new infotainment system and digital instrument cluster have been updated inside, with the EV6 moving to Kia’s new ccNC multimedia system (which includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), plus over-the air software updates.

The GT-Lines and the GT has been updated with a new steering wheel (two-spoke for the Air, three- Spoke on everything else), fingerprint authentication is also introduced.

Furthermore, two new variant-dependent exterior paint colours are available; the latter have been a cost of finishes such as Steel Grey and Moonscape Matte.
