2026 Honda ZR-V price and specs: Cheaper hybrids join the fray

Honda Australia has announced pricing and specifications for its updated ZR-V range, marking the next step in the Japanese brand’s efforts to make its hybrid vehicles more accessible and more affordable.

The mid-sized SUV line, which still has four grades, now includes three ZR-V eHEV grades (two cheaper alternatives to the current flagship EE HIGHLY LX), as well as its only remaining petrol-only option, at the bottom of the range is the VTi X.

Despite the increase in base prices of $2000 to $39,900 drive-away, price has decreased by $3000 for the flagship ZR-V eHEV LX – now 51,600 drive away.

Adding eHEV variants further down the line also means entry for a ZR-V – HeV has been cut by $11,500 from the start of 2025.

There have been practically no tweaks to the ZR-V’s design, despite a lightly facelifted model being revealed in Japan earlier this year. Instead, this update focuses primarily on tech enhancements and the aforementioned lineup changes.

The second-generation Honda Connect system is also available in the SUV as of now, with buyers receiving a three year membership when they buy it. This includes a variety of connected features, such as car status reports, geofencing, remote control of systems like climate control, ‘digital key and location search’ among others.

In addition, the ZR-V’s infotainment system is Google built in (enabling apps like Google Maps and Google Play), while safety improvements have been made including post-collision braking.

The tweaks to Honda’s middle-child SUV follow those recently applied to the larger CR-V, which is now available in four e:HEV variants (up from one), bringing the price of hybrid power down dramatically.

Orders are now open for the updated ZR-V range, with first deliveries expected to commence later this month.
