2026 Kia EV4 price and specs

The Kia EV4 arrives in local showrooms later this month, priced from $49,990 before on-road costs.

The mid-size electric sedan therefore has a base price between the entry-level BYD Seal Dynamic ($46,990 before on-roads) and the Tesla Model 3 RWD ($54,900 plus on-roads).

Unlike those competitors, the EV4 only comes with front-wheel drive. But it’s Kia supplying it with two batteries and three trim levels of the battery.

It offers up to 612km of range with the larger of the two nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery packs.

EV4 is more aerodynamic sedan body style, with an overall cost of $1300 premium over the equivalent eve3 small SUV and offers greater range.

Australian EV4 Sedans come from South Korea. I’ve got an EV4 Hatch made in Slovakia for the European market, but it has not been confirmed that we have our market. This is a that includes the new GT performance flagship announced at this month’s Brussels motor show.

A size similar to the K4 Sedan is the 4730mm-long and 1860mm–wide (as it is now offered exclusively with combustion power) sedan, which has been described as being roughly the same. This is also 10mm shorter than Tesla Model 3, and 73mm narrower on an 55mm longer wheelbase.

Drivetrains and Efficiency

All Kia EV4s feature a single, front-mounted electric motor and a 400V electrical system.

Sharing its E-GMP platform with the EV3, the EV4 has MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension.

A vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging system is standard across the range, so you can power small appliances but the Air only has an interior socket while the Earth and GT-Line also provide an exterior adaptor.

There’s also regenerative braking, which can be controlled via steering-mounted paddle shifters, and a one-pedal drive mode.

Long Range variants upgrade from 16-inch ventilated front brake discs to 17-inch units.
