Nissan Patrol hit with third price rise in 12 months

The Nissan Patrol has been given its third price rise in 12 months, with a further $940 added to the price of all three model grades in Australian showrooms.

The entry-level Patrol Ti now begins at $96,540 before on-road costs; the mid-spec Patrol T-L is now $108,040 before off- roads; and the Australian-developed Patrol Warrior has started at $111,600 before going to on roads.

The price increase isn’t as substantial as the previous rise last August, when an additional $5000 was added to the price of all three models, following increases of between $140 and $1340 with the MY25 update in April.

An Australian Nissan Australia spokesman said ‘The price adjustment is the result of ongoing international and local cost pressures, including logistics materials and supplier costs.

The increase as the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series – which leads the upper-large SUV segment ahead of the Patrol – has copped $1000 price rises across its lineup , with Toyota offering a similar explanation for the move.

Following the confirmation that next generation Patrol – codenamed ‘Y63 – will not offer the current 5. It is a 6-litre V8 engine that generates 298kW and 560Nm, with paired with the seven-speed automatic transmission when it arrives locally.

The Y63 will instead be supplied with a twin-turbocharged 3 (J63). At 317kW and 700Nm, 5-litre petrol V6 engine is more powerful (power and torque) than the V8, with a power and an torque of 5L.

This is a similar to what Toyota did with the LandCruiser 300 Series, which was released in October 2021 with – although it has been diesel – replacing the previous V8.

Despite being the sole V8 offering left in its segment – and after the LandCruiser 70 Series dropped its V8 in 2024 – Patrol sales fell 24.5 per cent in 2025, slipping further following the August price increase.

June was its peak month of sales in 2025 with 724 units sold, but after recording 508 sales during July the Patrol rarely exceeded 400 deliveries per month for the rest of the year (except a September high of 469).

It is due in Australia during the last three months of 2026 and will be longer & wider than the current model sold here as part of its Y63 Patrol, which was launched.

There’s a strong chance Melbourne-based engineering firm Premcar is working on a Warrior version of the Y63, following the success of the current Patrol Warrior and the Warrior version of the Nissan Navara.

Premcar was also enlisted to fine-tune the latest Nissan Navara ute, which is based on the current Mitsubishi Triton, as the two companies – part of a three-way alliance with Renault – face ongoing challenges to sales and profitability.

Both Nissan Australia and Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) will enter 2026 with new leadership, with Steve Milette replacing Andrew Humberstone as managing director at Nissan from April 1.

On January 5, 2026, Shunichi Kihara took over as CEO of MMAL after Shaun Westcott resigned from the role in September 2025.
