Volvo EX60 electric SUV leaked ahead of imminent reveal

Days after its official unveiling, the first clear images of the Volvo EX60 electric SUV have been published online with an Australian showroom arrival due for mid-2026.

Kindel Auto has published two images of the EX60 which appear to be screenshots from a video presentation of the Tesla Model Y, BMW iX3 and Mercedes GLC with EQ Technology-rivalling electric SUV.

A unique Volvo front end, they feature the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlight LEDs that were introduced on the 2014 XC90 SUV by former design boss Thomas Ingenlath.

The former Polestar CEO will return as Volvo chief designer on February 1, 2026.

subtitles are a series of images that read “It’s written in black and white”, as the front bumper of this car appears to be explained.

A teaser of the EX60’s interior has been released so far, with a statement about battery specifications and claimed range of 810km on the WLTP cycle.

The 810km range will make the EX60 the longest-range EV between recharges, pipping the BMW iX3’s claimed 805km figure, with both set to knock the Tesla Model 3 Long Range from the top spot in Australia.

The Model 3 Long Range was introduced in mid-2025 with a 750km WLTP range on the entry-level version’s standard 18-inch alloy wheels, beating the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor at 706km WLTP.

Using the brand’s new SPA3 architecture, which will underpin its next generation of electric vehicles (EVs) it will be faster processing speeds for infotainment, driver assistance and autonomous features.

Volvo Australia will also bring an updated EX90 large SUV to showrooms in 2026 with an 800-volt electrical architecture as it continues to roll out EVs, despite revising its previous pledge to sell EVs only in Australia from 2026.
